3.STOP PAYING FOR TV
Research has proven that most people who subscribe for TV don't actually use it, so why wasting your money? TV isn't a must-do task that would cost your life if you don't.

Instead of subscribing for TV, you could just buy a Digital antenna and watch local stations for free.

Also reduce the rate at which you buy DVD plates and more, this also consume money and most time won't add value to your life.

I personally have less time for TV as my blogging schedule is too tight, I only care about news and happening which my digital antenna can provide me.

4.BRING YOUR LUNCH TO WORK
Eating out can be so expensive, instead of spending so much on foods that might not even worth the price, its better to take food to work.

This is usually cheaper and healthier.

5.ENABLE AUTOMATIC SAVING
This idea has been helping me save money without worries, I discover most people find it difficult to save but by making your savings automatic, you won't worry about anything.

Allow auto withdrawal from your monthly income to your savings account.

I think Digit Saving App will work here!

6. AVOID UNNECESSARY SHOPPING
There are shopping practices that should be avoided at all cost, things like visiting shopping malls without having a particular thing to buy and also scrolling up and down of online stores without having anything in mind especially when your debit or credit cards is connected to the store.

So avoid those kind of habits, also have a list of what you want to shop for before visiting a shopping mall, I also talked about shopping in the bonus points of this article.

In order to save better, you should always keep track of your net worth so that you can make adjustment.

Your net worth is what is left after you've subtract your debts, tax and other mandated fees.

8.DO ANALYSIS BEFORE PURCHASING BIG STUFF
Some things maybe important but isn't urgent, so you should ask yourself if that purchase can wait for some other time.

Also make sure what you're wanting to purchase is relevant, plus, if you'll always use that thing.

Think if there's something that's more important than that current thing.

Analyze if you can borrow/rent that thing instead of buying.

Just make sure you won't regret it and don't buy because some else has bought it.

9.SWITCH TO A MORE AFFORDABLE CELL PHONE PLAN.
The data, airtime and other subscriptions we do with our mobile phone consumes money, you won't notice this until you run into debt especially those that do this subscription with a debit or credit card, it's easy to spend much money with your cards than a physical cash.

If you're a kind of person that often make calls, consider migrating to a service that gives bonus or one that charges low.

If you're a data type, migrate to plans that give you free data as bonus and promos.

I use data more than anything, I subscribe to package that I get almost double of initial purchase.

If there's another provider with cheaper plan, consider patronizing them.

10.ALWAYS SEARCH AND USE FREEBIES
There are some things we pay for that can be gotten for free or a lesser price with little or no difference.

So always search and use free stuff, don't always pay for something that can be gotten free.

For example, there are torns of provider that charge you for storing your document and other valuable but with Google drive or Drop Box, you can do exactly just that and can move to something more reliable when you're ready and have necessary resources.

11.QUIT SMOKING
Smoking is a very addictive habit that consumes money than we think, some people if they have saved the money spend on cigarettes would have bought a house or invested in real estate.

To be realistic, cigarette smoking can be nearly impossible to stop if you've been addicted, and can't be stopped in a twinkle of an eye but you can set goal towards stopping cigarette smoking. Consider reducing the rate at which you smoke. If you smoke 4packs a week, try reducing it to 3 or 2packs, keep reducing and with time you'll stop it permanently.

Also, save every cent you reduce. For example you reduce one packet, save the money. You'll be surprised how much you've saved and you'll be motivated to reduce more till you've quit smoking.

12.TRACK SPENDINGS DAILY
It's a good monetary habit to keep record of your daily expenses, this is useful and can help you save more money since you know where your money is going into.

With this, you can always cut off unnecessary expenses and channel the money to your savings account.

Small Expenses also matters, don't exclude the Last red cent spendings on chewing gum, etc. Keep record of them all, this way you'll know if you're overspending and will be able to manage your money painstakingly.

13.LIVE YOUR LIVE ON BUDGET.
You should always use budget if you intend being successful in saving money.

I personally have a good budget for my monthly salary, I write down my fixed expenses; even before receiving my pay, I always make sure there's a clear budget on how I will spend the money..

After I write my fixed expenses and have already budgeted an amount for saving as I usually increase my savings monthly, the remaining will be keep for expenses that may arrive, I also keep away my free spendings as many people look up to me especially my aunts little kids, so I include them in my budget (Free spendings), and aslo those that needs help, plus my pocket money incase of any emergencies.

Once I get my pay, I rush to my budget list and divide the money as budgeted, the remaining is kept until need to use it arrive, if it doesn't I add it up to my next month pay!

That's just a summary of my lifestyle, I will write a full article on how I use my money soon, so stay updated.

So you should budget your money for safe spending.

14.CUT UNNECESSARY SPENDINGS!
This will work when you successful keep record of how you spend your money, when that record is in place, you can always check it and see irrelevant things you've been spending on and can reduce or stop spending on it.

To be sincere, cutting down this expenses might be difficult but you need to do it ruthlessly without giving a second thought. I've sacrificed pleasure and fun that isn't adding value or irrelevant. Though I enjoy them, it wasn't easy but I just had to.

You can do better is you're determined.
Lastly, it's not only physical cash that needs to be tracked, how about your airtime and data? What are you using them for? How often do you recharge or buy data? And why?

I faced this kinda plight and it was mysterious. I discover my data finishes to quick than I expected, it was my fault; I was using it for rubbish (sorry, I had to use that word), I quickly drew a plan and I knew when I'm for business and pleasure, this also saved me time because those irrelevant internet surfing was wasting the time I was supposed to use for blogging and doing other things. I now visit social media less, after I return from work I follow my programmed agenda, and I respect it!

What about ring back or caller tune? Is it relevant? What about subscription to services like gist, quotes, etc are they relevant?

This things consumes money, the earlier you tackle them the better.

15.STOP OVER SPENDING ON FITNESS SUPPLEMENT
People spend too much money on fitness supplement that won't work, they spend because a friend recommended it or they just feel like trying it out.

They forget that it might work for a friend and don't work for you, we are different.

Stop overspending on fitness supplement and you'll have a smiling wallet. There are good approach to loosing or gaining weight other than spending unnecessary. Anyway Alexis has great tips on her blog; FITnancials.

16.SIGN OUT SERVICES YOU WERE ONCE USING BUT AREN'T USING AGAIN
There are somethings that charges you even when you ain't using it, they may include phone services, gym subscription, tips and more of it's kind.

You should unsubscribe from them, why pay for what you don't use?

I discover this is mostly on mobile devices. You should always track irrelevant charges; from bank or anywhere else and stop it. You feel the money is small but that's what adds up and form the billions you're longing for.

17.DON'T JUST SAVE, INVEST!
Everyone wants to make more money? But must you work for it? No!

Instead of stocking your money in one big warehouse, why not make it a stream for passive income? There are legions of investment that you could put that money in and it will generate you great income.

Be specific if you will be needing the money back for a short or long term goal so you'll be able to invest wisely.

Short-term (1–3 years)
•Emergency fund (3–9 months of living expenses, just in case)
•Vacation
•Down payment for a car

Long-term (4+ years)
•Retirement*
•Your child’s education*
•Down payment on a home or a remodeling project.

If you’re saving for retirement or your child’s education, consider putting that money into an investment account such as an IRA or a 529 plan. While investments come with risks and can lose money, they also create the opportunity for compounded returns if you plan for an event far in advance.

Also, make sure your investment suits your short and long term goals.

18.CONSIDER SPENDING LESS FOR TRAVEL
Why spend too much on traveling? It isn't a wise frugal habit!

You should consider spending less by any means possible, you can avoid buying unnecessary things, eating too much (rather eat before traveling) and many more frugal actions that could save you lots of money.

What about spending too much on accommodation? Why not try Airbnb and others of it's kind for cheap and blissful travel?

19.HAVE GOAL OR AMBITION FOR SAVING
Saving for a specific need or task is easier than just saving, it's nice and wise to save for something specific, this will motivate and energies you to keep striving if what you're saving for Worth it.

Saving for a particular and crucial need is good as you will have a clear idea of how much you need, in some cases you can do time estimate to know how long your savings will take and you'll also be able to control the impulse to spend money.

Saving for something specific will help you be productive and get things done quickly...

20.SPEND LESS THAN WHAT YOU EARN
This is great rule for saving money, if you don't adhere to this rule, you won't be able to save a dime, you'll either be struck with debt to clear or leave a paycheck-paycheck lifestyle which won't make you productive.

In fact, the lesser you spend, the much money you save or invest.

Start spending less than you earn, don't spend exactly what you earn even if you have a tight budget. If you're in this case, go back to your budget and make readjustment, cut down some things on the list.

If you're already in debt, take a break from saving to clearing up debts. Ever you've cleared your debt, start saving.

21.PAY BILLS ON TIME
There are mandated bills to pay which may oftentimes include taxes, government fee, etc

This bills should be paid on the due date and time, you shouldn't allow it convert to debt, pay them Asap! This will reduce lots of load than pilling up and paying at once. Whatever the bill maybe, please develop the habit of paying on time..

22.READ PERSONAL FINANCE BOOK
Learning is something that never ends, the more you read personal finance books the more advance you become when it comes to monetary issues.

Thank God for technology, you can read books by just storing them on your phone, laptop and more. You don't need a whole lots of paper called book which a times overwhelmed the reader but with your ICT gadget you will read without worry...

This days you don't even need to walk into any book store to get your favorite books, just at the comfort of your home using top shopping platforms online like Amazon, Clickbank, CJ and the rest of its kind.

Instead of searching for personal finance book all over shopping platform and avoid the risk of not getting the one that worth you reading, I have some I strongly recommend and you'll like it

23.FREEZE CREDIT CARD
There's lots of temptation as to when you have an active credit card especially if you can't control your impulse to spend.. So it's nice to freeze your card if you're the type that spends too much with your card..

It's easier to spend too much with a credit card than with your actual cash, so learn to freeze your card once in a while...

This doesn't mean you shouldn't use it when necessary but freezing when help you avoid unnecessary spendings...

24.DON'T GAMBLE, INVEST!
This is why many people fail in the quest to invest, they gamble instead of looking for something profitable like Real Estate and others.

Gambling tends to look more like a get-rich-quick scheme, so many people rush into it without considering the risk attached and end up lavishing their money.

Yeah there's no investment or business without risk but the risk attached to gambling is something else compared to others.

The bitter truth, more often than not; the rate at which people loss in gambling is much more than the rate at which they win, so the possibility of failure is high and you might not succeed. Besides gambling is highly prohibited in many countries, so why go against the law?

Stay away from gambling as much as you can or don't invest too much money into it to avoid stories that touch!😃

25.DON'T BUY WHEN YOU CAN RENT OR BORROW
This is an excellent way to save money, this is not in anyway related to being cheap, I will rather call it frugality.

Lets get it right, there are cases this rule wouldn't work and you will need to buy even when you can borrow/rent. But there are cases this rule will be superb.

The only case this rule won't work is when you'll be needing it frequently, so its better if you buy yours instead of consistently renting which can consume lots of money when the frequency is high. Or instead of pressuring or disturbing whoever you're borrowing from. However, that depends on the relationship with who so ever you're borrowing from, but I will still advise you buy yours if you will need it often and be less dependent; you can't predict people or don't know how often the person you're borrowing from will be needing and using it..

If you won't be needing it too often, it's better to rent or better still borrow. This will save you more money than expected.

26.BUY FAIRLY USED PRODUCTS IF IT SUITS YOU
This is a bit similar to No_25 but just some mere difference.

If you can't afford something new or if it will drastically affect you financially, it's better to buy a fairly used product. This could be a house, car, or something else.

The important thing is it suiting or satisfying your need, don't do what will affect you financially when you have a second option of not falling victim.

So, think what you need that can be bought cheaply by using the fairly used, there's nothing wrong here!

27.AVOID EATING OUT
A good frugal action is to avoid eating out or rather reduce the rate at which you eat out, even as a bachelor or spinster.

Eating out consumes too much money, they more you desist from eating out the better.

If you're finding it hard to quit, try reducing the rate you visit places that tempt you to eat out.

28.HAVE GUILT-FREE SPENDING.
A Balance method of managing and saving your money is to have a guilt-free spending for yourself, this may include unplanned giveaway and money for buying little things for yourself. In fact guilt-free spending don't necessarily have to be specific, it's an amount you keep for yourself to do anything unplanned, this doesn't involve making huge purchases; if there's such need them include it in your budget.

Expert financial advisors suggest that your guilt-free spending should be 15-20% of your income, but the lesser gap the better.

Guilt-free spending will help you control your natural impulse to overspend, this won't parmently stop the habit of overspending as your guilt-free can't be enough to satisfy your wants, you still need to develop the habit of managing your free spendings and also to avoid overspending.

To do this, make a hard decision of not going against your budget or using the money in your savings, say to yourself 'I will use nothing but my guilt-free spendings'.

So, start today and have that guilt-free spending you can spend without worrying or feeling guilty of over spending or anything of its sort.

29.BUY IN BULK
This is a great frugal habit you should practice when making purchases.

There are some things that is cheaper when purchased in bulk than single, this doesn't mean you should purchase (in bulk) things that isn't useful or rather things you won't use often just because it's cheap.

This applies to things you will be using often and is also available in bulk at a cheaper rate. If you have such things, it will be more profitable to purchase it in bulk.

So, think of things you use often and consider buying in bulk, this isn't a must, if you are cashless then don't, just budget to buy it in bulk...

30.HAVE AN EMERGENCY FUNDS
It's a necessity to have emergency funds, Emergencies come when we don't expect, so it's good to be prepared before it arrives.

Start channeling money for the future, you can't always run to your savings when there's an emergency, you should have some funds for emergencies, no matter how little it is.

Emergencies can be of different kinds, car broke down, immediate medical attention, and other kind of emergencies. The earlier you start saving for emergencies the better..

31.GET A ROOM MATE
This is a good way to save money and also make money. This is best for students, not only students but to whom ever it may concern, as long as you have excess apartment that's enough to be shared with some one or persons.

If you have extra room that you want to rent on short term basis, I will recommend you try renting it out on Airbnb, lots of people are making passive income already with little effort.

This might not make you rich, it will allow you to always have money in your wallet!

32.LOOK FOR WAYS TO MAKE EXTRA MONEY
It not advisable to depend on only one stream of income, you should look for smart ways to earn yourself cash, no matter how little.

There are tons of job you can do without much stress and still earn something, these maybe online or offline.

Some offline ways to make extra income may include, renting out space in your house, renting some properties of yours, the list goes on.

While some online ways may include, Blogging or blogging, taking online surveys, referrer programs, freelancing and a whole lots of them. You can check out my list of online business to do and also 51+ Adnetworks to make money from your blog.

33.PAY WITH CASH.
I have discover that people spend too much money than planned when they make purchases with credit card, debit card, or checkbook.

The temptation of overspending is high when you're using any of the aforementioned means, it's advisable you use Cash when making purchasing as you'll be able to control your spendings.

I stopped using my ATM for buying data bundles because I tend to buy more than I budgeted, I just feel the money is there, so I spend it anyhow it pleases me.

34.BE BRAND FLEXIBLE
This is a good frugal action, it's good to be brand flexible.

Don't keep patronizing your brand because you've been using them, you should check for other brands that is cheaper and still offer same or more quality.

Some brands usually keep their cost high because of their fame and are widely used, so by trying other brands you will escape the high cost of your initial brand...

When you refuse to make a change, you might end up being cheated on by your brand.

Personally I change brand as often as I can, if I find out another brand that's cheaper I switch to it, my main priority is the quality not who is in charge.

35.SHOP WITH LIST
This is a good habit for those who want to avoid overspending.

You should shop with a list of what you need, so you won't spend too much on things that isn't necessary.

There are possibilities that you won't remember all your needs at the time of writing but it's still better to go with a list of those you remember, if you find out you forgot something, you can always make adjustments.

Also, if you find something you would love to try in the store, you can plan for it later.

36.FIND AND BUY THE CHEAPEST GAS
Why spend so much on gas when you can get something cheaper.

When you want to refill your gas, you should look for cheap places to buy from, the difference might not be much but it will help you save a little more which will be useful someday or sometime.

You should allow consider the distance, so you won't spend money that's much on transportation. To avoid this, when you want to refill, you should simply log on to Gasbuddy.com to find the cheapest gas in your neighborhood.

Simply type your city and state in the "Search for Local Gas Prices" search box, then click "Search," and you will see a list of the lowest priced gas in your area as of the last 24 hours.

In conclusion, you should always be frugal conscious, and also don't let someone's lifestyle override your own decision, if you make a decision, stick to it. Don't change because of someone else. It's your life and you know your aspiration and goals for life which is different from another's persons own, so when you make decision that would save you money, stick to it and respect it.

If the decision is making you uncomfortable, you can always readjust..
