How To Overcome Inability To Sleep At Night

You ain't feeling sleepy at night? Okay sometimes! You're not alone, I'm in same too or should I say I was? 😃

Some nights I'm unable to sleep, and sometimes when I wake up during the night I'm unable to fall asleep again. These isn't healthy but how to overcome It is what I don't know! I know I'm not alone, mine got to the point I have to use sleeping pills on myself in order to sleep!



Almost everyone can relate to this  feeling when they're awake at night especially doing nothing. You'll feel stuck, keep rolling around your bed and your eye watching the clock for it to get dawn! The worst aspect is the night slowly approach the morning!😃

Do you know this inability to sleep at night has some drastic effect? Yeah it does, if it doesn't I won't be writing about it. Beside, the fact that you're unable to sleep is one of its effect but that isn't all, see some other effects below!

• Makes you drowsy during the day!
When you don't sleep at night, what else do you expect? You will be sleepy during the day. Especially when you have lots of task and routine to accomplish!

• Can Lead To Depression!
You are unable to sleep, suddenly you may start thinking about some painful experience as a result of the stressful night. Afterwards you get down emotionally! It happened to me😞

• Cause Mental Disorder
What do you expect when you're awake at night, unable to sleep and keep thinking about odd times?

• Reduction Of Weight
You're in doubt? You realize how important night sleep is? When you don't sleep at night you won't be healthy and it will lead to weight reduction.

• Diverse Illness
When you don't sleep, it will definitely lead to things you don't expect!

Knowing its effect, what causes these inability to sleep plus how you can overcome it without sleeping pills!


• Heartbreak
• Anxiety
• Too much stress plus hard work
• Disappointment
• Unhealthy Diet and other causes you can think off!

Some of these inability to sleep tends to be normal, once in a while it happens! But some ain't normal especially when it happens more often than usual. The normal inability to sleep (insomnia) can easily be overcome by keeping your self busy and some few other things (I will talk about overcoming insomnia in full).

I remember when I was thinking too much about how a girl turned me down, I couldn't sleep all night, the more I think the more I became sad! I wanted her by all means possible but she wasn't interested for reasons best known to her, I would stay awake all night to think about how I would be able to win her heart and take my feeling from just crushing to another level that's more real (like dating).

Okay I'm not gonna tell you everything about this girly issue but seriously it affected me, I wasn't productive with my routine, my days was so terrible, i couldn't get my mind off her and I end up hurting my self the most! I then knew I needed to sleep at night to avoid further damages, sleeping pills wasn't an alternative because I waked up past the usual time and I was lacking behind. I needed something more real and straight forward that will bring me to the normal me! And guess what? I did it, I overcame insomnia!

So below I'm gonna to be showing you what I did that helped to me overcome insomnia. I know you tired of staying awake all night, feeling stuck in a deep dark hole with nowhere out and hoping for it to quickly get dawn! 😃

How To Overcome The Inability To Sleep!



1.Get Peace Of Mind

You actually need to get your mind off unnecessary things, start thinking positively.

Never worry, be on the positive side! If you're disappointed, don't see it as the end of the road, embrace hope!

Don't allow plights weigh you down, be happy always!

2.Reduce Work

Stress is major cause of insomnia, in order to overcome insomnia you should reduce the level of work you do!

Don't stress yourself, I know you're working hard to better your life but good health should step in first!

3.Eat Healthy

Unhealthy diet is another cause of insomnia, you should eat healthily.

Start planning your meal and make sure you're eating a balanced diet!

4.Get Busy!

When you're not feeling sleepy, don't stay idle and building your way to depression.

Get busy with stuffs. Below are somethings you may consider doing!

Drink Tea and snacks
When you ain't felling sleepy, you can take Tea and eat some kinda snacks or even snacks! It's helps you stay balanced and comfortable!

Afterwards go back to sleep, close your eye and meditate.😃 you won't know when you've slept off!

•Watch Movies
You can decide to watch movie until when you're feeling sleepy again instead of lying hopelessly and wishing it gets dawn soon!😔

Don't have movies? Or didn't subscribe for TV?
Get busy on YouTube! I do it, when I'm unable to fall asleep I get busy on YouTube, I learn some codes (JavaScript and php), Listen to blogging lectures, watch Mark Angel Comedy and lots of fun stuff on YouTube!

•Read Books
When you're not feeling sleepy, get busy by reading books! Not only books, you can read blogs too! Find blog that motivates you and read!

•Listen to audio!
Podcast is a great idea! Go online and download some inspiring podcast on any topic! You can also listen to your favourite songs.

• Use The Opportunity!
Think of what you could get done by that time, use the opportunity to achieve some certain things! I usually decide to check mails and response to comments on my Facebook page and blog! So start maximizing the opportunity!


When you're busy with stuffs, you won't know when you sleep off! Though getting busy isn't a guarantee to fall asleep later on but at least save you from thinking about odd times and digging your way to depression!

Final Thoughts!

Some insomnia at night is as a result to too much sleep during the day! If you're a fan of sleeping during the day (like myself😄), try reducing the level of sleep during the day so you would be able to sleep at night!

Siesta is very healthy and I wouldn't advise you not to sleep during the day, but rather have a good schedule that won't collide with your daily routine and also reserve some task you can achieve at night!

When you find yourself in the state and of being unable to sleep, don't think about odd times, apply what I've advised above and get busy! When you achieve something during that period you can hence sleep during the day if you didn't fall asleep later on!

If your inability to sleep is as a result of pain, disappointment, heartbreak and more! Attempting to do some task might not work, instead watch movies and do other fun stuff. Don't trigger the pain by attempting to force yourself to work!
