Aw* I wasn't frugal with this wears!

December 08, 2017
Have you ever purchased something, feeling it's of high quality and extremely CHEAP but at the end friends and family opposed, telling you it was insanely expensive?

If you have then you could relate to this experience am about to share, and you know how feels. 😢

I'm currently perplexed after I had such experience and I'm thinking I'm a *jerk* for not being frugal and that's a frugal fail for me! So disheartening*

Here's The Main Gist!

Last week (on Friday, December 1st precisely), I bought myself some wears. I actually didn't plan to shop anything, so it was actually an impulse spending.

How it happened, I went out to a nearby street, intending to shave and buy some foodstuff. After I've shaved, I was then returning home since I changed my mind on buying the foodstuff.

Just few steps away from the salon, I saw some stunning trousers at a boutique (it wasn't a jean trouser but a light trouser that's actually like a sports wear), and I thought It'll make sense to buy one or two.

I entered the boutique and glance at some trousers before I finally picked two that actually look like the best.

I bargained with the Draper and thereafter purchased the trousers.

I was overwhelmed with joy because I thought the trousers was extremely cheap (I bought the two for less than $25 after bargaining because I was trying to be frugal), I felt like flying home just to announce my frugal awesomeness to my family.

When I got home, I met my grand mom, auntie, uncle, and two guests (our neighbor and a family friend).

My auntie on seeing the bag I was holding, asked what was in it, I boastfully told her I purchased some quality wears for a cheap price.

She collected the bag from me and brought out the trousers, she looked at it and asked how much I purchased it.

I told her the exact amount for each and she was like "You don't mean it, this is insanely expensive", I responded that it's not, maybe she actually don't know high quality wears.

I never knew that my grand mom, uncle and guests were listening. They requested to see the trousers and they all told me it was expensive.

Making things worst, one of our guests said she could actually buy FOUR of those trousers for the SAME amount, I was speechless and aw*

To my greatest surprise, I that was defending the trousers suddenly start taking sides with them, I instantly stop seeing the trousers as a high quality wear and agreed it was expensive.

I regretted buying those trousers and thought about returning them and getting back my cash. I would have done so but I have already removed the brand label on the trousers, so I thought the draper won't accept it.

Besides, I wasn't ready for long talk, *imagine telling him that the wear is expensive after purchasing it* I will look stupid, so I damn the idea of returning it...

Anyway* I'm currently rocking the trousers since it's my money, as at on Sunday morning (I didn't go to church) when I was writing this post to publish today, I was wearing one of the trousers.😃

BUT i learnt some lessons, I pray I never experience such frugal fail again.

The lesson Learnt

1.I Should Say No to Impulsive Spending.
If I had passed the boutique without branching I wouldn't have experience this frugal fail. So I should say No to unplanned shopping.

2.I Shouldn't Be Scared To Bargain.
When the draper told me the price, I wanted to price it far lower than the price he told me but I thought I was going to look cheap. So i maintained an average pricing.

Wish I had followed my instincts and priced low, I might end up at a cheaper price.

3.I Should Have Priced The Two Together.
I didn't tell you that I bought the wears separately, I mean I bargained for each and not both.

If I had priced the two wears as one, I might end up getting discount and buying it cheaply.

4.Road Side Boutiques are Usually Expensive.
I've come to learn that road side boutique is usually very expensive, so I should avoid at all cost.

The lady that told me she could buy FOUR of those trousers for the same amount later showed me some wears she bought at the market and guess? It was extremely cheap.

Plus, maybe it was expensive because we're approaching Christmas (just few weeks ahead), so I will reduce shopping during festive season as things are usually expensive.

5.I Will Learn To Close My Eyes To Beautiful Things.
If I had walk with my eyes close, I wouldn't have seen those stunning trousers and by now I won't be complaining. Haha* nice idea? I pray I don't hit my leg!

Final Thoughts
I know I'm not happy for my frugal fail but there are reasons why it happened, like

I have learnt a lot which I wouldn't have learnt if this didn't happen. So it's a WIN

Besides* it gave me something to blog about, if it didn't happen I wouldn't have talked about it. So I'm somewhat glad but...😉
